About the 5000 Five-Channel

The Outlaw Audio Model 5000 is a five-channel Class AB power amplifier designed primarily for home-theater systems and multichannel music. It delivers 120 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms, with all five channels driven simultaneously, and 180 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms. Its design uses a high-current toroidal power supply, independent rectification for each channel, four discrete bipolar output devices per channel, substantial per-channel filter capacitance, modular channel construction, and individual speaker-protection relays. The original Model 5000 used unbalanced RCA inputs; the later Model 5000x added balanced XLR inputs and has slightly different published electrical and dimensional specifications. The specifications below refer to the original Model 5000, not the 5000x.
