About the Kithara

The Oskar Heil Kithara is a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker weighing approximately 35 kg and measuring 110 cm high by 40 cm wide and deep. It features a long AMT/AVT midrange/tweeter driver that covers frequencies from 650 Hz to 23 kHz, radiating sound as a dipole transducer. The woofer is a 10-inch bass driver mounted facing upwards to optimize phase relationship with the AMT unit, covering 28 Hz to 700 Hz. The cabinet is bass reflex with the port located at the bottom, 180 degrees to the floor. The speaker has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a sensitivity of 94 dB/W/m, making it suitable for transistor amplifiers with power ratings from 50 to 200 watts. The cabinet is available in finishes including oiled walnut, cherry, black, or maple wood veneer. The Kithara is praised for its clean midrange, beautiful harmonics, and ability to deliver precise attacks and purity of sound, making it favorable for a wide range of music genres.
