The Ortofon ST-7 is a versatile dual-mono moving coil (MC) step-up transformer engineered to optimize low-output MC cartridges, such as the Ortofon Quintet Series, SPU Classic, and SPU #1 models. Featuring dual permalloy-core transformers with a sandwich winding structure for superior high-frequency response, low phase distortion, and exceptional channel separation, it delivers transparent signal transfer without added noise or coloration. The fully balanced, symmetrical internal layout, individual permalloy shielding for each channel, and low output impedance ensure a hum-free performance and black background. Housed in a compact, solid metal casing with rubber feet to minimize vibrations, brushed finish, and gold-plated RCA connectors for reliable connectivity, it seamlessly integrates into any hi-fi setup.
