About the OM 5S

The Ortofon OM 5S is part of the OM 5 Series, offering a robust and economic solution for vinyl playback with a spherical stylus. It features a unique removable weight-plate on the mounting bracket, allowing cartridge weight adjustment from 5g (with weight for standard tonearms) to 2.5g (without for low-mass tonearms). The cartridge body, made from plastic and glass compound, ensures high rigidity, low resonance, improved linearity, higher channel separation, and reduced distortion. It supports stylus upgrades within the OM series (e.g., 3E, 5E, 10, 20, 30, 40, 78, D25M) for optimized sound without replacing the entire cartridge. Ideal for home Hi-Fi systems with excellent compatibility across playback systems and phono preamps.
