The Ortofon 2MR Black is the flagship of the 2MR series, featuring a low-profile housing reduced by 3mm (14mm height) for seamless integration with Rega tonearms and low-profile turntables without spacers or modifications. It mounts easily with two screws and weighs 6g for optimal tonearm resonance. Equipped with a nude Shibata diamond stylus on an aluminum cantilever, quad-coil motor system, and split pole pins with silver-plated copper wire, it delivers exceptional detail, speed, clarity, and a flat frequency response akin to moving-coil cartridges.
