The Origin Live Illustrious tonearm is a meticulously engineered dual pivot design available in 9, 10, and 12 inch versions, with an effective length of 239mm for the 9 inch model. It features a hybrid arm tube composed of five different materials to maximize energy dissipation and minimize resonance, resulting in exceptional musicality and clarity. The tonearm includes ultra-low friction dual-pivot tungsten carbide bearings for smooth vertical movement and durability, a rigidly attached counterweight with fine adjuster for precise tracking force, and a high-strength aircraft alloy headshell with improved decoupling and lightweight finger-lift. Side bias is set by a falling weight on a thread, providing low friction and stable tracking. Internal wiring uses cryogenically frozen high-grade copper Litz wire for transparency and detail. VTA (vertical tracking angle) is infinitely adjustable via a large calibrated dial accessible above the armboard. The arm weighs approximately 850g and comes with a 5-year warranty. It is widely acclaimed as a performance benchmark for its deep, powerful bass, superb dynamics, and consummate musicality, making it suitable for use with the finest cartridges.
