About the Delphi IV
The Oracle Delphi Mk IV is a high-end manual turntable featuring a suspended subchassis with a belt drive system. It includes a 3 lb counterweight on the subchassis opposite the tonearm to enhance overall stability. The platter is a laminate composite sandwiched between aluminum layers, concentrating mass at the perimeter to increase momentum and reduce external disturbances. The platter also integrates a hard polymer mat machined in place, replacing the older soft mat, and features Oracle's record-coupling system with a threaded spindle and clamp to secure records tightly. The turntable supports 33.3 and 45 RPM speeds and is known for clean transient reproduction, good instrumental differentiation, and excellent stereo focus. The Mk IV model typically comes with an SME 3009 Series III tonearm (though some units may be missing the anti-skating weight). It is highly regarded for its dry, lean bass character and overall sound quality.
