The Onkyo TX-NR616 is a 7.2-channel THX Select2 Plus certified network A/V receiver rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20 Hz to 20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 channels driven). It provides 8 HDMI inputs (7 rear, 1 front MHL-compatible) and 2 HDMI outputs with HDMI 1.4a features including 3D support, Audio Return Channel, Deep Color, and HDMI-CEC. Video processing is handled by Marvell Qdeo, offering analog video upscaling to 1080p and 4K upscaling on supported sources. Audio processing includes 192 kHz/24-bit Burr-Brown DACs for all channels, Audyssey MultEQ 2EQ room correction with Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume, and Music Optimizer for compressed audio playback. Supported surround formats include Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, and Audyssey DSX. Network capabilities include Ethernet for internet radio and DLNA audio streaming, plus support for an optional USB Wi-Fi adapter.
