The Onkyo TX-NR5008 is a flagship 9.2 channel home theater receiver designed for high-end integrated home entertainment. It delivers 145 watts per channel into 8 ohms with a maximum total harmonic distortion of 0.05%, powered by a massive toroidal transformer and 22,000 µF capacitors. The amplifier supports flexible channel assignments including bi-amping and bridging, with 11 binding post speaker terminals. It features WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) for accurate signal reproduction and independent power supplies for audio, video, and amplifier circuits. The receiver supports THX Ultra2 Plus certification and is ISF certified for video calibration. It includes eight HDMI 1.4a inputs (7 rear, 1 front) and two HDMI outputs, supporting 1080p upscaling via HQV Reon-VX, 3D video, Deep Color, and Audio Return Channel. Audio decoding supports Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby PLIIz, and Audyssey DSX for expanded surround formats.
