About the TX-8020

The Onkyo TX-8020 stereo receiver features a full discrete amplifier configuration providing 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with dynamic power of 160 watts per channel at 4 ohms. It incorporates Onkyo's WRAT (Wide Range Amp Technology) which preserves natural audio fidelity across a wide frequency range by using low-negative-feedback amp topology, closed ground-loop circuits to reduce distortion, and high instantaneous-current capability to handle impedance fluctuations and dynamic gains. The receiver uses a massive EI transformer and heavy-duty transistors to ensure accurate speaker drive and durability. It includes an FM/AM tuner with RDS and 40 station presets with 8-character naming, two sets of banana-plug-compatible speaker terminals for multi-room setups, a phono input for turntables, five analog audio inputs, a headphone jack, and a subwoofer pre-out. The unit supports speakers rated from 4 to 16 ohms and allows connection of two pairs of speakers (A and B). It also features a single-cable RI system for limited control of RI-ready components via the remote.
