About the V 40 SE

The Octave Audio V 40 SE is a line-level tube integrated amplifier and a direct descendant of the V 40 and V 50 models. It is designed as a stable, low-noise, highly flexible amplifier that can drive a wide range of loudspeakers, including demanding loads down to 2 ohms, and it includes modern conveniences such as home-theater bypass, buffered pre-out, and Octave’s Ecomode power-saving system. The amplifier uses a pentode output topology with four 6550 output tubes standard in the SE version, and it supports a range of compatible alternative tubes through its adjustable bias system. Optional Black Box and Super Black Box external power-supply upgrades are available to increase reserve capacitance and improve dynamic stability.
