About the DDA-100
The NuForce DDA-100 is a direct digital amplifier that operates entirely in the digital domain until the speaker outputs, where the digital signal is converted to analog via Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). It delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 75 watts into 4 ohms, with a peak output of 250 watts, making it suitable for compact speakers and floor-standing models. The amplifier accepts digital inputs only: two optical Toslink, one coaxial S/PDIF, and one USB 2.0 adaptive input, supporting up to 24-bit resolution and sampling rates of 96 kHz via USB and 192 kHz via S/PDIF. It features a minimalist design with no analog inputs or outputs, no bass/treble controls, and no headphone output, emphasizing purity and simplicity. The front panel includes a multifunction volume knob and a hidden display for input and volume level. The unit is compact and lightweight with a brushed aluminum finish, available in silver or black. It includes a remote control and supports worldwide auto power switching (100-240VAC). The DDA-100 is praised for its wide dynamic range, crystalline clarity, and ability to create a convincing soundstage in both hi-fi and home cinema stereo contexts.
