About the Dais
The Nottingham Analogue Studio Dais is a high-end manual belt-drive turntable designed as an ultimate upgrade, offering ultra-high-end performance approaching the Anna Log model but in a more affordable and less elaborate package. It features a massive 20+ kg gravity spun cast iron platter topped with a 25mm thick graphite mat and anti-expansion bands for final damping. The bearing is an oil-pumping admiralty bronze with a carbide/thrust design allowing continuous flow of bearing oil between the spindle shaft and bearing, providing great stability. The turntable can accommodate up to two tonearms (9", 10", or 12") and comes with its own Wave Mechanic power supply that provides an ultra-stable AC waveform to drive the motor. The base board includes a thin platform with 90% damping material coverage to improve the marriage between the turntable and the surface it stands on. The Dais replaces the Mentor turntable and is noted for its simplicity and minimal visual presence aside from the platter. It requires manual start and stop and is praised for its musical detail, natural and revealing sound without coloration, and very low surface noise. Dimensions are approximately 482 x 381 x 203 mm, with an overall weight of about 36.2 kg. Speed change is manual with 33.3 and 45 rpm options. Tonearm is not included by default.
