About the Nola Viper 3

The Nola Viper Reference 3 is a three-way, floorstanding loudspeaker designed by Carl Marchisotto to provide a true reference-grade listening experience at a reasonable price and size. It features an open baffle design for the midrange and tweeter drivers, which are deployed in a 45-degree mirror-imaged array to enhance realistic image sizes and excellent image focus. The midrange driver is a 110mm tri-laminate cone with a premium Alnico magnet system, originally developed for the Pegasus model, delivering natural mid-band frequency reproduction. The high frequency driver is a 25mm magnesium/aluminum dipole dome with twin Alnico magnets, producing a coherent and natural dipole sound. The low frequency section uses twin cast magnesium 220mm bass drivers in a sealed enclosure. The speaker uses black high gloss solid acrylic sub baffles to stiffen and damp the main front baffle, reducing coloration and improving natural sound. Drivers are mounted with machine screws and threaded inserts, and wiring is hidden inside the front baffle. The Viper Reference 3 is praised for its musicality, resolution, and ability to reveal the quality of source components, making it a true reference loudspeaker that rewards good recordings and equipment choices.
