The New Audio Frontiers 845 SE Special Edition is a premium integrated amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking the refinement, warmth, and precision of directly heated triode amplification in single-ended configuration. Running in pure Class A, it delivers 25 watts per channel powered by 845 vacuum tubes driven by an ultralinear SRPP circuit. The amplifier can drive most loudspeakers with efficiency of at least 90dB without difficulty in domestic listening environments. The output transformers are hand-wound using silver-plated copper litz wire with M0 core construction and double winding to prevent parasitic oscillation. The rectifier uses two 5R4GY directly heated rectifier tubes. Output tube bias is automatic and requires no manual regulation, with cathodic resistors bypassed by high-quality capacitors. The amplifier is constructed with strictly selected components for sonic fidelity and reliability, offering a wide three-dimensional soundstage with holographic sound characteristics. The Special Edition includes enhanced capacitors, resistors, wiring, and power supplies compared to standard versions, plus special black wood side panels.
