The NAT Audio Magnetic Preamp is a high-end reference line stage designed by NAT Audio, featuring a transformer-coupled, class A zero feedback circuit configuration. It uses specially selected vacuum tubes representing advanced industrial tube manufacturing technology. The preamp employs a hand-crafted wide-bandwidth output transformer custom designed for NAT, with an open bandwidth from 1Hz to 700,000Hz, ensuring extremely high-quality amplification and near-perfect square wave response. It supports both pure single-ended (RCA) and pure balanced (XLR) operation with separate selectable taps. The zero feedback design eliminates capacitors on the direct or indirect signal path, preserving sound purity. Attenuation is managed by a computer-controlled relay network with 96 positions, using only one laboratory-grade resistor on the signal path at any step. The power supply section includes approximately 500,000 uF of capacitance, providing over 550 joules of energy for stable operation independent of line voltage fluctuations. The preamp is built with pure dual mono construction, high-quality electronic components including military-grade tubes, 0.1% Vishay resistors, nano-crystalline transformer cores, and gold-plated teflon connectors. It features a remote control made from a solid aluminum block and a built-in meter displaying total working hours of the tubes. The chassis is fully modulated with a 15mm thick aluminum front panel. The Magnetic preamp is designed to work worldwide on AC line voltages from 100 to 250 VAC at 50-60 Hz (factory set).
