About the ND 555

The Naim Audio ND 555 is a reference-level, fixed-output network music player and DAC from Naim’s 500 Series. It is designed for use with a separate preamplifier or integrated amplifier and requires at least one Naim NAPS 555 DR power supply; a second 555 DR supply may be added. Its architecture includes a 40-bit SHARC processing stage, Burr-Brown PCM1704K R2R DACs, discrete regulation, low-noise LVDS technology, and a suspended sub-chassis for the audio circuitry. It supports high-resolution network playback, USB storage, external S/PDIF sources, AirPlay, Chromecast, Bluetooth, Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify Connect, UPnP, internet radio, and Roon. The ND 555 is not an integrated amplifier, preamplifier, phono stage, headphone amplifier, CD player, or music server with internal storage. Current manufacturer listings and documentation continue to identify the ND 555 as a supported product; therefore it is not confirmed to be no longer manufactured.
