About the NAP 500 DR

The Naim NAP 500 DR is a flagship power amplifier from Naim Audio's 500 series, designed for ultimate audio performance. It employs a bridged Class AB configuration with ten stages of local regulation per channel, NA009 output transistors developed in partnership with a specialist semiconductor manufacturer, and DR (Discrete Regulator) technology borrowed from the Statement series for stable power delivery. The two-box design separates the amplifier from the 500 PS power supply, which houses a 1,100VA toroidal transformer providing 12 raw DC supplies, minimizing electromagnetic interference and mains noise. This setup ensures prolonged output into 2 ohms without performance degradation, maximized open and closed-loop speed, reduced distortion, and minimized thermally-induced noise. Supplied with 500 PS, Power-Line, and Burndy cable, it features a 25kg chassis with heatsink and intelligent fan cooling.
