About the NAC 552

The Naim NAC 552 is a flagship stereo preamplifier from Naim Audio's 500 Series, second only to the Statement NAC S1. It employs a distinctive two-box configuration separating the preamp from its dedicated 552 PS power supply to optimize rejection of electromagnetic interference. Key features include a split-rail power supply with an 800VA toroidal transformer, three smoothing capacitors, and a new Discrete Regulator (DR) that virtually eliminates power supply noise in the signal earth. The sound-critical electronics are mounted on a fully suspended brass sub-chassis using coil springs at infrasonic frequencies for maximum vibration isolation. It supports AV bypass mode, independent listen and record banks, assignable inputs, and both DIN and RCA connections for flexibility. Precision rotary potentiometers with precious metal wipers ensure musical integrity and long-term stability. Supplied with 552 PS power supply, Power-Line, R-Com remote, and Burndy cables.
