About the NAP 200 DR
Originally designed by Naim Audio founder Julian Vereker in 1971, the NAP 200 DR is the revitalised version of Naim's first production amplifier, embodying the brand's philosophy of simplicity, focus, and musicality. Reintroduced in 2015 with a Discrete Regulator (DR) module, it powers partnered Naim preamplifiers such as the NAC 152 XS, NAC 202, or NAC 282. The amplifier features a new circuit design with improved earthing and an anti-resonance main audio circuit board, along with anti-vibration feet to protect sensitive components from microphonic vibration and external interference. A custom-designed 430VA toroidal transformer provides over 300VA of transient power, with separate windings for left and right channels and a dedicated preamplifier power supply winding. The NAP 200 DR is stable into any load and can drive 2-ohm loads for extended periods, making it a robust and enduring musical partner.
