The NAD C440 AM/FM Stereo Tuner, produced from 1998 to 2001, is a Mono/Stereo tuner known for its exceptional performance and clarity. It features a digital tuning scale covering FM and MW bands with a sensitivity of 2.0uV for FM and 10uV for MW, ensuring clear and robust reception. The tuner offers a signal-to-noise ratio of 40dB (MW), low distortion rates of 0.15% (FM) and 0.7% (MW), and a selectivity of 30dB (MW), which enhances its ability to isolate desired signals effectively. Its frequency response spans from 30Hz to 15kHz (FM), delivering high-fidelity audio. The unit is designed with a MOS-FET RF section and high-quality components for noise-free reception and excellent clarity, even on AM. It includes features such as auto search tuning, preset naming with up to 8 characters, and non-volatile memory to retain presets when unplugged. The tuner is remote controllable via NAD-Link and has a simple, understated design. Dimensions are 435 x 80 x 290 mm, and it weighs 3.5 kg. It operates on 220-230V and was manufactured primarily in Malaysia. The C440 is no longer in production but remains a respected vintage tuner for audiophiles.
