The NAD C 399 is an integrated amplifier with built‑in DAC that serves as the flagship of NAD’s Classic Series. It uses NAD’s HybridDigital nCore Class D output stage to deliver 180 watts of continuous power per channel into both 4- and 8‑ohm loads, with ample dynamic headroom for musical peaks. Digital sources are handled by a 32‑bit/384 kHz ESS Sabre DAC, fed via two optical and two coaxial S/PDIF inputs plus an HDMI eARC port for high‑quality PCM audio from a connected TV. Wireless connectivity includes two‑way Bluetooth with aptX HD for both streaming to the amp and sending audio to compatible Bluetooth headphones. For analog sources, the C 399 provides two line‑level RCA inputs and an ultra‑low‑noise moving‑magnet (MM) phono stage with precise RIAA equalization, high overload margin, and infrasonic filtering that suppresses record warp noise without affecting bass response. NAD’s latest Modular Design Construction, MDC2, equips the C 399 with dual expansion slots for optional modules such as the MDC2 BluOS‑D, which can add BluOS multiroom streaming, Wi‑Fi/Ethernet network playback, additional Bluetooth capabilities, and Dirac Live room correction.
