The NAD C-160 stereo preamplifier offers ultimate performance combined with the convenience of remote control. It includes 6 line level inputs (including 2 tape in/outputs with dubbing facility), switchable MM and MC phono inputs, and 2 line level preamp outputs (one variable from 0dB to -12dB). The unit features gold-plated input and output sockets, pure Class A discrete amplifier modules, an independent headphone amplifier, bass and treble controls with tone defeat switch, and a motorized Alps 'Blue Velvet' volume control. Input switching is done through hermetically sealed relays, and it supports 12V trigger and NAD Link. The power supply uses a toroidal transformer with 4 separate secondary windings and multiple low-noise regulators for clean operation. The C-160 is designed with high specification components such as metal film resistors and polypropylene capacitors to ensure sonic purity and reliability. Dimensions are 435 x 95 x 310 mm, and it weighs 4.6 kg. It was introduced in 1999 and includes a remote control as an accessory.
