About the Ultra Eminent EX

The Ultra Eminent EX is a moving coil phono cartridge designed by master cartridge designer Yoshio Matsudaira. It utilizes the proprietary SH-μX magnetic core, which has higher permeability and flux density than typical iron cores, allowing fewer coil windings and minimizing distortion while maximizing signal output. This results in wide dynamic range, fast transient response, low distortion, and high signal-to-noise ratio, delivering tremendous natural detail and clarity. Positioned in the middle of the My Sonic Lab cartridge family, the Ultra Eminent EX features a boron cantilever and an Extra Super Duralumin A7075 alloy body, contributing to lightning-fast transient response and precise sound staging. It reproduces complex music with ease and offers master tape sound quality. The cartridge weighs 9.5 grams and is recommended for tracking forces between 1.9 and 2.2 grams, with an ideal loading impedance around 400Ω. It is highly regarded for its ability to reveal microdetails and deliver a live, realistic soundstage.
