About the Hyper Eminent EX

Designed by master cartridge maker Yoshio Matsudaira, the Hyper Eminent EX cartridge aims for natural sound reproduction by minimizing signal loss, internal distortion, and phase distortion. It uses Matsudaira's proprietary SH-μX magnetic core, which has higher permeability and flux density than typical iron cores, allowing fewer coil windings and thus reducing distortion while maximizing output. The cartridge body is crafted from super hard A7075 aluminum treated with ion surface hardening, creating a sandwich effect that eliminates resonances and results in a surface ten times harder than the previous Eminent EX model. This, combined with a warm and natural Super Duralumin cantilever and a semi-line contact stylus, delivers wide dynamic range, fast transient response, low distortion, and high signal-to-noise ratio. The cartridge is known for its warm, nuanced sound with iron-fisted control and a fully fleshed-out midrange, making it highly system friendly and detailed without sounding lean.
