About the Eminent GL

The My Sonic Lab Eminent GL is an ultra-low impedance moving coil (MC) cartridge designed by master cartridge maker Yoshio Matsudaira. It features a unique SH-μX magnetic core and a super duralumin double structure cantilever, with a semi-line contact stylus tip. The cartridge is engineered to minimize internal resistance and distortion while maximizing output energy, resulting in tremendous natural detail, clarity, and dynamic range. The body is made from extra super duralumin (A-7075) alloy, which is twice as hard as the previous aluminum alloy used in the Eminent model, improving mechanical strength and sound quality. It operates with an internal impedance of 1.0 Ω and an output voltage of 0.4 mV at 1 kHz, with a frequency response from 10 to 50,000 Hz. The stylus pressure is recommended between 1.9 to 2.2 grams, centered at 2 grams. The cartridge weighs approximately 9.5 grams and uses bright rhodium plating on the terminal pins for durability and signal integrity. This model advances the "new world of cartridges" concept introduced by the Eminent series, emphasizing low impedance and high energy output for superior sound reproduction.
