About the MC-3+

The MUTEC MC-3+ is a professional master-clock generator, digital audio reclocker, and format converter. It uses MUTEC’s 1G-Clock technology to generate, distribute, and regenerate low-jitter Word Clock, AES3/AES11, and S/PDIF reference signals. It accepts external Word Clock/10 MHz, AES3/11, and S/PDIF sources, can lock to an external reference or operate from its internal digitally compensated crystal oscillator, and can convert between AES3, AES11, Word Clock, and S/PDIF formats. The unit can generate Word Clock frequencies up to 768 kHz and provides multiple individually buffered outputs for system-wide synchronization. MUTEC continues to list the MC-3+ on its official website, so it does not appear to be discontinued. This information concerns the standard MC-3+; the separate MC-3+ USB model adds a USB audio interface and has different specifications.
