The Musical Paradise MP-P1 Tube Phono Preamp is a high-quality analog phono preamplifier designed to extract the full sonic detail from vinyl records. It supports both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges, employing four 12AX7 vacuum tubes running in Class A mode for the MM section and Toshiba 2SK170 HiFi JFET transistors for the MC step-up stage. The design uses a single-ended Class A hybrid circuit with zero global negative feedback and a passive RIAA network to deliver a thick, warm midrange, wide soundstage, and excellent frequency extension. The MC section can optionally be powered by an external 12-24V battery supply (sold separately). High-quality components include US military grade Dale resistors, Rybycon, Nichicon, Panasonic capacitors, Obligato Gold coupling capacitors, Z11/M6 high-grade EI transformers and chokes, gold-plated PCB and connectors. The unit is designed and engineered in Canada and built in China, It is praised for its natural, musical, and detailed sound performance, making it a strong contender in the - phono preamp market segment. Dimensions are 355mm width, 105mm height, 300mm depth, and it weighs 8kg net (9kg gross). Power consumption is 35W with AC input options of 110V, 120V, 220V, or 240V at 50/60 Hz. Note that it is currently out of stock and may have compatibility issues with some Bryston preamps.
