About the V-DAC II
The Musical Fidelity V-DAC II is an external digital-to-analog converter that operates at 24-bit, 192kHz with true up-sampling. It features extremely low noise, very low distortion, wide bandwidth, and outstanding linearity. The V-DAC II uses asynchronous USB technology to reduce timing jitter and improve sound quality with computer audio sources up to 96kHz/24-bit resolution. It includes three digital audio inputs: optical, coaxial, and USB (Type B), and outputs line-level stereo RCA audio. The DAC is built with a 24-bit/192kHz Burr-Brown (DSD1796) digital-to-analog converter and an asynchronous up-sampler (SRC4392) for lower noise, better linearity, ultra-low distortion, and incredibly low jitter. The unit is housed in a brushed silver aluminum case for durability and aesthetics. It comes with an outboard power supply and a one-year warranty. Note: It is not compatible with Dolby Digital signals and requires PCM output selection on TVs.
