The Music Metre Bel Canto features an advanced asynchronous digital interface with an ultra-low phase noise master clock, ensuring minimal clock noise and preserving audio signal integrity. It employs a fully balanced mono DAC combining multi-bit and delta sigma technologies with distortion below 0.0005% and a dynamic range of 130dB. The output stage includes a discrete, low gain, low noise buffer capable of driving 40A peaks into a 2-ohm load, followed by a custom Bel Canto nCore power buffer stage delivering up to 1200 watts into speakers without adding noise or distortion. The design avoids capacitors in the signal path and uses custom bulk metal foil resistors for low distortion and noise. The chassis is solid billet with constrained-layer construction to isolate critical analog stages and optimize performance under real-world conditions.
