About the KAS-2

The Montana KAS-2 is a state-of-the-art loudspeaker designed for uncompromising musical realism. It features built-in subwoofer amplifiers delivering a total of 2000 Watts to control four 13" sub bass drivers. The speaker stands 185 cm tall and weighs approximately 150 kg (330 lbs) per unit. Its vertical "floor-to-ceiling" driver configuration includes 2 x 13" woofers, 2 x 9" mid-woofers, 2 x 5" midrange drivers, and a 1.125" tweeter. The cabinet is rock solid with advanced techniques to eliminate standing waves and resonances, including hardwood front baffles and internal chambers isolating drivers except for the sub bass drivers that use the entire external cabinet as a sealed pressure chamber. The crossover section uses premium components with 24 dB/octave slopes at 300 Hz and 2500 Hz, and an active 12 dB/octave crossover at 55 Hz. The frequency response ranges from 18 Hz to 25 kHz ±3 dB, with an impedance of 4 Ohms (varying between 3 and 12 Ohms). Bi-wiring is strongly recommended to optimize performance. The KAS-2 is optimized to handle any dynamic challenge from music or movie soundtracks, delivering astonishing clarity, a multidimensional soundstage, and unparalleled musical presence.
