The Monitor Audio Silver RS8 is a flagship floorstanding loudspeaker from the Silver RS series, designed to elevate the performance of the award-winning Silver S range. It features a 2.5-way bass-reflex design with a driver array consisting of a 1-inch gold dome C-CAM tweeter, a 6-inch C-CAM midrange driver, and two 6-inch C-CAM woofers. The drivers are mounted in non-metallic cast-polymer frames with a matte silver finish matching the speaker diaphragms. The RS8 offers an unusually extended frequency response, reaching down into the mid-to-low 30Hz range for bass and extending beyond audibility in the treble. It delivers spacious imaging with good height and width, deep soundstages, and seamless driver integration with crossover points that are mostly smooth. The speaker is available in finishes including Black Oak, Natural Oak, Rosenut, Walnut real wood veneers, and black or white high-gloss lacquer. It measures 900 x 185 x 270 mm, weighs 21 kg, and has a sensitivity of 91 dB with a nominal impedance of 6 Ohms, requiring an amplifier power of 40 to 175 watts.
