About the UltraPhono
The Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MoFi Electronics) UltraPhono is an analog MM/MC phono preamplifier with an integrated headphone amplifier. Derived from MoFi’s GAIN 2 mastering-system design principles, it provides DIP-switch-selectable cartridge gain and loading, a front-panel mono mode for mono records, and a switchable subsonic filter to reduce low-frequency rumble below 20 Hz. Unlike the related StudioPhono, the UltraPhono adds a high-grade Class A headphone section with a 6.35 mm (1/4-inch) headphone jack and a 31-step electronic volume control. It accepts one stereo RCA turntable input and provides stereo RCA line output for an integrated amplifier/preamplifier.
