About the KWA-100SE

The KWA-100SE is a solid-state stereo power amplifier derived from ModWright's KWA 100, upgraded with more output devices, increased power-supply capacitance, and higher-grade parts for improved dynamics and refinement. It uses a Class AB, zero-global-feedback circuit with MOSFET output devices, and provides approximately 120 W per channel into 8 ohms and 210 W into 4 ohms. The design is dual mono, with a regulated power supply, a single voltage gain stage, and true balanced floating inputs that accept both balanced and single-ended signals via input transformer coupling. Key component upgrades include Takman carbon film resistors and ModWright custom capacitors in critical signal and power-supply positions, contributing to a highly transparent yet musically engaging presentation.
