The Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab OML-2 is a floorstanding 2.5-way loudspeaker designed for high-performance music and home theater playback, using all-custom components and cabinetry. It employs a 1.25-inch silk dome tweeter and two 6.5-inch mica/Kevlar-treated paper cone drivers, with the lower woofer rolling off above 300Hz and the tweeter crossing in at 3kHz, for a smoothly integrated response. The front-ported 38-inch-tall MDF cabinet features a 5-degree sloped 1-inch-thick front baffle, internal asymmetrical bracing, and a mass-loadable chamber in the base to improve stability and damping. The OML-2 offers a claimed frequency response of 35Hz-22kHz (±3dB), 6-ohm nominal impedance, and 84dB sensitivity, and is wired internally with 12-gauge 99.999% OFC copper. It is bi-wire capable, magnetically shielded for proximity to video displays, and supplied with a removable plinth and threaded spikes.
