About the Standard

The Miyabi Standard cartridge features a low compliance of 9 x 10^-6 cm/dyne and a recommended tracking force of 2 grams. It uses a line contact stylus and a special aluminum alloy cantilever. The magnet material is Alnico, chosen for its firm yet non-nervous sound characteristics, and the coils are copper. The cartridge weighs 13.5 grams and has an output voltage of 0.2 mV, frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz (±2 dB), channel separation greater than 25 dB, and an internal impedance of 2 ohms. Designed by Takeda San to appeal to his own listening preferences, the Standard aims to deliver a clean, neutral tonal balance with excellent dynamic linearity and a coherent, three-dimensional soundstage. It excels in reproducing wide dynamic range music such as large orchestral works and piano recordings, providing a quiet background and explosive dynamics without coloration.
