About the Cables Proline S-3
The MIT Cables Proline S-3 (also known as Shotgun S3.3) are high-performance interconnect cables designed with MIT's exclusive patented Multipole Technology. These cables provide detailed and neutral sound reproduction with great separation of vocals and instruments, solid bass response, and reduced boominess. They feature substantial build quality with secure connectors (bananas and spades) and are designed to optimize component interaction through impedance matching. The cables are finished in a handsome glossy black weave with interface boxes also in black, and use a unique Iconn connector system allowing screw-on connectors for different terminations. Users report a very detailed soundstage with clarity and minimal harshness, making them a favorite among audiophiles. The Proline S-3 cables are somewhat substantial in size, which may affect tight fits or angles. They were highly regarded in systems including Wadia, Levinson, and Thiel components, contributing significantly to system performance and engagement. These cables were discontinued around 2019 but remain sought after for their sonic qualities.
