About the M-7si
The Mirage M-7si is a two-way, floorstanding, reflex-loaded bipolar loudspeaker featuring an 8" injection-molded carbon-impregnated polypropylene woofer, a 1" titanium-dome tweeter with cloth suspension, and a 5" full-range rear drive-unit called the MSE (Broad Spectrum Mirage Soundstage Enhancement Transducer). The rear driver operates above 480Hz and is enclosed in its own sealed chamber, while the woofer is reflex-loaded with ports on both front and back. The crossover frequencies are 480Hz and 2kHz, with a complex 3rd order high-pass crossover for the tweeter. The speaker is designed to create a large, open soundstage with detailed upper mids and highs, and powerful, authoritative bass that can fill large rooms, often reducing the need for a subwoofer. It has a rated sensitivity of 84 dB/W/m anechoic (88 dB in-room), nominal impedance of 6 ohms (minimum 4 ohms), and recommended amplifier power between 50W and 175W RMS. The frequency response extends from approximately 30Hz to 22kHz. The cabinet measures 45" high, 14" wide, and 7" deep, weighing about 80 lbs each. Originally Mirage Loudspeakers is a division of Audio Products International, based in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
