About the M-1si
The Mirage M-1si is a flagship three-way, six-driver bipolar loudspeaker system designed to deliver a superior sense of space and wide sound dispersion through its bipolar radiation pattern. It features dual 8" Polyflex-treated, carbon-filled polypropylene woofers with PVC/nitrile surrounds housed in independent enclosures, dual 5" injection-molded polypropylene-cone midranges in isolated sub-chambers operating down to 400Hz, and dual 1" titanium hybrid-dome tweeters. The drivers are arranged in mirror-image pairs with slight offset toward the center, and the speaker is configured for bi-wiring with improved five-way binding posts. The cabinet is finished in a high-gloss piano black with black grille, constructed with heavy bracing and designed for stability. The crossover frequencies are 400Hz and 2kHz, with a frequency response of 25Hz–33kHz ±2dB on-axis and 25Hz–20kHz ±2dB at 30° off-axis. Sensitivity is rated at 82dB anechoic and 86dB in-room at 2.83V/1m, with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms (minimum 4 ohms). Amplifier power requirements range from 150 to 500 watts RMS per channel. The speaker weighs approximately 185 lbs and measures about 60" high by 18" wide by 8.5" deep. It is known for its delicate, intimate, and large-scale sound character, capable of playing loudly without strain and reproducing low bass cleanly.
