The Michell Engineering Iso Base is an isolation platform crafted primarily from rigid acrylic, chosen for its inert properties to dampen and absorb vibrations. It features a low-profile, compact design with a 4-point chassis construction that ensures stable support and effective decoupling of the turntable from its resting surface. This platform is compatible with Michell Engineering turntables such as the Orbe SE, Gyro SE, and TecnoDec, as well as other precision audio equipment. The combination of the acrylic chassis and specialized Tenderfeet provides enhanced isolation, reducing external and internal vibrations that can degrade audio performance. This results in cleaner, more focused sound with improved dynamics, tighter bass, more open midrange, and silky highs. Dimensions are 16mm (height) x 530mm (width) x 430mm (depth). The Iso Base is designed to be both a functional and aesthetic upgrade, with a transparent design that complements modern audio setups without detracting from the turntable's appearance. It is not a turntable itself and must be purchased separately.
