About the HMS Cinema

The Meyer Sound HMS cinema surround loudspeaker is designed for use in cinemas, high-end private theaters, screening rooms, and other surround applications. It features proprietary long-excursion cone drivers and diaphragm compression drivers powered by an onboard amplifier with active crossover, driver protection, and correction filters for flat phase and frequency response. The loudspeaker provides wide frequency range, high linear peak SPL, and low distortion for full intensity and nuance of cinema surround channels. Models include HMS-5, HMS-10, HMS-12, HMS-15, and HMS-15AC, varying in size, driver size, and power to suit different venues. The HMS-5, HMS-10, HMS-12, and HMS-15 use IntelligentDC technology, receiving DC power and balanced audio via a single Phoenix 5-pin connector, powered by an external MPS-488HP power supply. The HMS-15AC model features an Intelligent AC power supply with automatic voltage selection and onboard RMS remote monitoring option. Cabinets are constructed of multi-ply hardwood or premium birch with black textured finish and acoustically transparent, detachable black cloth grilles. Mounting options include U-brackets, wall hinges, and yokes for flexible installation.
