The Metrum Pavane 2 is a flagship non-oversampling DAC featuring a unique design with parallel driven R2R ladder networks across eight DAC modules, combined with an FPGA-driven forward correction module that splits audio samples into separate data streams for each channel. This architecture achieves extremely high linearity down to -140 dB and a realistic 24-bit dynamic range. The dual mono design ensures an exceptional channel separation of 120 dB, contributing to flawless instrument positioning and a natural, rich soundstage. It supports USB input up to 384kHz via an M2Tech XMOS module, Toslink up to 96kHz, and Coax/AES up to 192kHz. The DAC is housed in a robust, well-damped aluminum chassis with a polished black glass top, available in silver or black finishes. Outputs include balanced XLR and single-ended RCA, both designed to sound identical.
