About the ULN-8

The Metric Halo ULN-8 is a professional 1U multichannel audio interface, converter, microphone preamp, monitor controller, and DSP mixer. The original ULN-8 provides eight ULN microphone/line preamp channels, eight channels of 24-bit A/D conversion, ten channels of D/A conversion, balanced analog inserts and outputs, eight-channel AES3 digital I/O, word-clock synchronization, MIDI, SMPTE timecode, FireWire connectivity, two high-impedance instrument inputs, and a dedicated headphone output. Later ULN-8 3d versions add USB-C, MHLink networking, expanded DSP, and the 3d software environment. The name covers multiple hardware revisions, so connectivity and exact performance depend on whether the unit is the original, 2d, or 3d version. A current ULN-8 mkIV also exists and should not be confused with the earlier FireWire ULN-8.
