About the LIO-8
The Metric Halo LIO-8 is a professional modular audio interface designed for line-level interfacing, processing, and monitoring with outstanding sonic performance derived from the flagship ULN-8. It offers eight channels of analog-to-digital conversion capable of 192kHz sample rates, utilizing Metric Halo's third-generation analog front end for flat frequency and phase response with extremely low distortion. The unit includes balanced sends for each analog input, allowing integration into analog workflows by feeding monitoring consoles or recorders. Outputs include eight digitally controlled analog outputs with full monitor controller integration and high-quality headphone outputs. Digital interfacing is provided via eight channels of AES I/O in single-wire mode, supporting full 8-channel operation at up to 192kHz. The LIO-8 features a powerful onboard DSP engine (2d Card) enabling zero-latency mixing and processing with a comprehensive suite of plug-ins and effects, including MIOStrip, HaloVerb, EQs, compressors, and more, accessible via the MIO Console software. It supports extremely low round-trip latency (below 3ms at 96kHz) and can be expanded with mic preamps (4 or 8 channels) and additional DSP licenses. Connectivity includes FireWire ports, MIDI I/O, word clock, SMPTE input/output, and a DC power jack. The device is designed for professional studio use with modular expandability, precise digital control, and flexible monitoring options.
