The Meridian 562 V.2 Multimedia Controller is a versatile preamplifier and source controller ideal for integration with Meridian digital loudspeakers and surround sound systems. It supports up to five coaxial digital inputs, two optical digital inputs, and seven analogue inputs, along with video switching for six composite and four S-video inputs and corresponding outputs. The 562 V.2 can handle digital audio streams up to 24-bit/96kHz and supports MHR-encrypted data streams, making it suitable for modern multi-room systems. It features precision Delta-Sigma analogue-to-digital conversion and offers analogue pass-through capabilities, allowing it to act as a source switcher while deferring A/D conversion to other Meridian processors if desired. Outputs include three analogue outputs (main and two tape), one optical tape output, and two coaxial digital outputs (main and tape). The unit measures 88 x 321 x 332 mm, weighs 5 kg, and has a total harmonic distortion of 0.01%. It includes RS232 control for setup and integration with Meridian's setup application. The 562 V.2 was designed to complement Meridian's DSP6000 digital loudspeakers and the 568 Digital Surround Processor, providing comprehensive audio and video source management in high-end audio systems.
