About the DAC 1
The Merason DAC1 Mk II is a premium DAC from Switzerland, designed to deliver analog-like musicality from digital sources. It employs two Burr-Brown PCM1794A converter modules, one per channel in dual-mono mode, achieving a dynamic range of 132 dB. The USB input uses Amanero technology with dual precise oscillators for low jitter, galvanically isolated via capacitive components. Other inputs (RCA SPDIF, Toslink optical, AES/EBU XLR) are galvanically isolated and de-jittered using transformers and capacitors. The fully balanced design includes discrete I/V conversion stages buffered in Class A, with 12 dedicated internal power supplies (6 per channel) featuring oversized linear transformers. The PCB layout has been entirely redesigned for reduced impedance, loss-free power delivery, improved shielding, and lower noise floor using high-precision surface-mount components and polystyrene capacitors in low-pass filters. Available in finishes like Silver, Black, and Cider. The original DAC1 is out of production in some regions with a new model forthcoming, but the Mk II remains current.
