The Meitner MA-1 V2 is an updated version of Meitner Audio's first product, designed to deliver cost-no-object performance accessible to a wide range of enthusiasts. It supports sample rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, and 192 kHz, as well as DSD formats through six digital inputs including USB, AES/EBU, coaxial, and optical. The DAC employs Meitner's proprietary MFAST asynchronous technology to instantly acquire and buffer incoming signals while completely stripping jitter, ensuring pristine sonic clarity. The Meitner Digital Audio Translator (MDAT2) upsamples all incoming PCM and DSD audio to DSD512 (8x SACD standard), enhancing resolution and transient response without digital ringing. The MA-1 V2 features discrete dual differential MDAC modules and a high-purity MCLK master clock, considered by many as one of the best DAC/clock combinations available. It offers balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog outputs with output voltages of 4.6V and 2.3V respectively. The unit is housed in a brushed aluminum chassis with a simple front panel and includes a credit-card-style remote control. Designed and manufactured in Canada, it comes with a 5-year warranty.
