The McIntosh MVP-851 is a state-of-the-art DVD Audio/Video player designed for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts. It supports DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, DVD-R, CD, Video CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3 formats, but does not support SACD. The player features built-in Burr Brown 24-bit Digital to Analog Converters capable of sampling rates up to 192kHz, with one two-channel 192kHz/24-bit DAC for stereo DVD-Audio and three two-channel 96kHz/24-bit DACs for six-channel DVD audio. It offers balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs, including 5.1 channel output, as well as coaxial and optical digital outputs. The MVP-851 includes built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders with level calibration and time delay adjustments. It also features digital re-master processing to enhance CD audio quality by extending frequency response beyond 20kHz. Video outputs include component, S-video, and composite with 480i/480p selectable output. The player provides advanced video performance with noise reduction circuits, multiple still picture display qualities, chapter review, and smooth motion scan at various speeds. The remote control is ergonomically designed with backlighting and logical layout for ease of use. Dimensions are approximately 17.5" W x 5.375" H x 15" D, weighing about 20 pounds.
