About the MA5200

The McIntosh MA5200 is a stereo integrated amplifier delivering 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms with extremely low total harmonic distortion of 0.005%. It features a flexible preamplifier section supporting multiple analog and digital inputs, including four high-level unbalanced, one high-level balanced, one moving magnet phono input, and three digital inputs (USB, coaxial, and optical). The built-in McIntosh Digital Engine decodes digital music up to 32-bit/192kHz, providing high-quality analog sound. The amplifier includes McIntosh's Power Guard circuit to prevent clipping and distortion, Sentry Monitor protection for output stage safety, and ThermalTrak output transistors for cool, low-distortion operation. It also has a high-drive headphone amplifier supporting headphones from 20 to 600 ohms, with speaker outputs muted during headphone use. The MA5200 supports home theater pass-through and can be used as a preamplifier or in bi-amping configurations with an external power amplifier. The front panel features classic blue power meters and a fluorescent display for source selection and volume. It comes with an IR remote control that operates the amplifier and other McIntosh components. The unit weighs 37 lbs and measures 17.5" W x 6" H x 22" D.
