The McIntosh D150 is a high-end digital stereo preamplifier and DAC designed to integrate digital audio sources into a high-fidelity system. It features a classic McIntosh design with a black glass front panel, rotary knobs, illuminated logo, and brushed aluminum end-caps. The D150 supports many of the latest digital audio formats including DSD64, DSD128, DXD 352.8kHz, DXD 384kHz, and PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz via USB, plus 24-bit/192kHz via coaxial and optical inputs. It includes a unique DIN input for connection to select McIntosh SACD/CD transports for pure sound quality. The device uses an 8-channel, 32-bit/500kHz DAC with advanced Quad Balanced digital-to-analog circuitry for precision, dynamic sound with extremely low distortion. It offers both balanced and unbalanced outputs with variable and fixed volume options, allowing flexible system integration. A built-in headphone amplifier supports low-impedance headphones up to 600 ohms. The D150 includes a fully regulated power supply with a special R-Core transformer for stable, noise-free operation. Control is via front panel knobs and buttons plus an IR remote that also controls other McIntosh components. The preamplifier has a very low total harmonic distortion of less than 0.0015% and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 110 dB. Dimensions are approximately 17.5" W x 3.9" H x 16" D, weighing about 13.5 lbs.
